CORSICANA, Texas – Tyler Junior College women's soccer played to a 1–1 draw against Navarro College on Tuesday night after both teams found the net in the closing minutes.
After a scoreless first half, the Apaches created consistent pressure with 19 total shots and six corner kicks. Their persistence paid off in the 87th minute when Brianna Garcia broke through, finishing a setup from Taya Pomfret to give TJC a late 1–0 advantage.
Navarro responded quickly, earning a penalty kick just two minutes later that Aoi Kawabuchi converted to even the match at 1–1.
Goalkeeper Marieke Pohl made two saves for the Apaches, while Navarro's Kate Palmieri turned away nine shots to keep the Bulldogs in the game.
