Bottley, Johnson, Thornton earn postseason honors for Apache Ladies
TYLER, Texas — Three members of the Tyler Junior College women's basketball team earned postseason recognition, as Monica Bottley, Kennedi Johnson, and Taler Thornton were named to the all-region and all-conference teams.
Bottley led the Apaches in scoring, averaging 18.0 points per game across 31 contests. The sophomore guard shot 43.1 percent from the field and 35.8 percent from three-point range, while adding 3.5 assists per game. She also shot 76.6 percent from the free throw line, providing a steady offensive presence all season.
Johnson turned in a dominant all-around campaign, averaging 16.3 points per game while shooting 49 percent from the field and 80 percent from the free throw line. She added 5.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists per contest, finishing with 188 total rebounds and serving as one of the team's most versatile playmakers.
Thornton anchored the Apaches averaging 16.2 points and a team-high 6.4 rebounds per game. She shot an impressive 50.5 percent from the field, along with 32.8 percent from beyond the arc, and contributed 2.4 assists per game across 31 appearances.
The trio played a pivotal role in Tyler's success throughout the season, leading the Apaches to a 21-10 season.
