Men's Golf Finishes Second at Texas Wesleyan
TYLER, Texas — Behind a standout final round from Noah Sandlin, Tyler Junior College earned a runner-up finish at the Texas Wesleyan Invitational, highlighted by one of the top individual performances of the tournament.
Sandlin delivered a three-round score of 207 (72-70-65), capping the event with a stellar 6-under-par 65 in the final round at Squaw Creek Golf Course. After opening with a 1-over 72 and following with a 1-under 70 in round two, Sandlin surged up the leaderboard with a near-flawless closing round that featured multiple birdies and consistent play across both nines.
In the final round, Sandlin caught fire early and maintained momentum throughout, carding a 31 on the front nine before finishing strong on the back to secure his low round of the tournament. His performance played a key role in lifting the Apaches to a second-place team finish against a competitive field.
Apaches Hugo Koch also delivered a key performance for TJC, finishing the tournament at 2-under-par. Koch closed with a 1-under 70 in the final round, carding a 32 on the front nine and maintaining steady play down the stretch to secure his under-par finish.
The Apaches now head to Woodland Hills Golf Course in Nacogdoches, Texas for the East Texas State Championship on Monday, April 21.
