TYLER, Texas – The Tyler Junior College Men's Basketball team cruised past Bossier Parish Community College 91-71 on Wednesday, January 7.
The Apaches improved to 9-5 on the year, and 3-3 in Region 14 play. The Cavaliers moved to 8-6 on the year, and 2-3 in Region 14 play.
"We've played everybody close in all of our losses, and we've been right there. Now it's about getting over the hump, and that's something we talked about before the game," Apaches Assistant Coach Mitch Marquis said.
The Apaches jumped out to a 44-30 lead at halftime and never looked back, shooting 55.6 percent from the floor for the game while holding Bossier Parish to 41.7 percent.
Fareed Allim and Josiah Hill led Tyler with 16 points apiece. Allim was efficient from deep, knocking down 4 of 6 from behind the arch, while Hill went 6-of-7 from the field and added four rebounds. Caden Bell chipped in 15 points, and Chris Uwayo Jr. finished with 11 points and four assists.
Next up the Apaches will travel to Angelina College on Saturday, January 10 for a 4:00pm showdown with one the regions top teams.
