Apaches Fall to #1 Trinity Valley in Tough Road Loss

ATHENS, TX – The Apaches traveled to Athens to face conference opponent Trinity Valley but came up short in a tough battle, falling 46-78 to the undefeated #1-ranked Cardinals. The Apaches managed to keep the game close heading into halftime, trailing by just six points with the Cardinals leading 26-20. However, Trinity Valley dominated the second half, outscoring the Apaches 52-26.

The Cardinals capitalized on the Apaches' mistakes, collecting 18 steals and forcing 25 turnovers, which resulted in a significant point differential. Additionally, the Apaches struggled offensively, shooting just 24% from the field and a mere 16.7% from beyond the arc.

Despite the tough loss, the Cardinals showed why they're ranked #1, with several players contributing to their offensive surge. For the Apaches, standout performances came from reserve player Luis Gil, who scored 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Joey Bell and Caden Bell, both starters, added 9 and 8 points, respectively.

The Apaches will be back in action on Tuesday, December 11 against another conference opponent, Paris, at 7 PM
