Women's Golf Nationals: #9 Apaches finish in 9th
The #9 Tyler Junior College Women's golf team finished up their final round at the NJCAA National Championships in 9th place. The Apaches had their best round of the championships on its final day, posting a team score of 303 which was 4th best on the final day among all the teams. Top scorers were Ayana Dailey (76,78.80,80), in 32nd, Azul Amezcua (87,i78, 80, 80), finished day 4 in 37th, Alejandra Escobar (84,77,83,76), in 42nd, , Thaiz Amezcua (84,91,86,87) in 68th, and Jordan Davis (91,92,90,80) in 73rd. Daytona State(FL) won the Women's NJCAA Division I National Championship at the Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Florida on Thursday. Texas was well represented at this year's National Championships and included Odessa College 3rd, McLennan College (Waco) 4th, Tyler 9th, Blinn(Brenham) 10th, and Ranger College also competed in the National Championship tournament this week. The women's golf team is led by head coach, Sandy Terry.
